The government has banned motorcycles on the Padma Bridge until further notice. The ban will be effective from 6 am on Monday. This information was given in a notification of the Information Department. The notification said that motorcycle crossing has been banned from 6 am tomorrow (Monday). This order will remain in force till re-order is given. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the Padma Bridge on Saturday. The bridge was opened to the public from 6 am today. However, thousands of motorcycles and other vehicles started gathering at the Mawa end of the bridge from last night due to the tendency to cross the bridge first.
